My latest obsession
If you've never heard of etsy.com, you've got to take a look. It is a way cool emporium of all things handmade, from $2 earrings to multi-thousand dollar couture dresses. I've bought adorable stuffed animals for Dillon and Finley, cool knitting patterns, and some artwork to start Dillon off right. And of course there are many, many things I still covet. Any ideas for what to do with vintage sock monkey material?

Slacker Me
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Halloween was a little while ago. Dillon turned one, we went to Kansas for turkey, KU got into the Orange Bowl. Does that catch me up? We saw Aunt Peony and Addi FINALLY!! Dillon and Addi really will make the most adorable couple later, when they're allowed to date at age 30. Here are some pics from our family portrait session. I will follow up with birthday pics as soon as I find them.

Brad's Wedding
Once again I was on the go this past weekend, travelling to Houston for my cousin Brad's wedding. I can't believe he actually got married! For those of you who know Brad, I think you'll agree that he seemed like a long shot. Anyway, it was absolutely gorgeous. Welcome to the family, Colleen, and good luck! (Side note: that golf bag is the groom's cake. Amazing!)

Beer Update
So the beer is good. Really good actually. A light and refreshing wheat beer with just a hint of sweet & sour cherry flavor. So which one of my many multi-talented friends and family would like to design it a label? Wish it luck at the state fair this weekend!

New pics
Can you believe it? Dillon is almost 9 months old. I know everyone says time flies after the baby is born and you kind of brush it off, but they're not kidding. Anyway, here's my new favorite shot of Dillon playing peek-a-boo, as well as some cool stuff I shot at the Chihuly glass exhibit while I was in Pittsburgh. Oh - I almost forgot! I made my first beer with Katy (from work) and Lori (Steve's sister). It's a black cherry wheat we've named "Pop Your Cherry Wheat". Get it? Ha! Anyway, it's currently fermenting and will hopefully be super delicious when it's ready. I'll keep you posted and save you a bottle if it is worth it.

Getting older sucks!
So after several months of feeling pretty good about all the baby weight I lost, I have gained enough of it back to be very unhappy with myself. Damn breastfeeding and its mega-metabolizing powers! I was lulled into happy complacency. So now the big debate: do I suck it up and just run? I hate running with just about every fiber of my being, but everyone I know who looks really good runs. Besides the obvious downside to running, I would be forced to get out of bed when Dillon wakes up at 6am to do it without passing out in the heat. You know how much I hate getting out of bed! Surprisingly, having a kid didn't really change that. :) And does anyone have a recommendation on a website that tracks calories, etc. on the food you actually ate instead of the food they think you should eat? I'm hoping such a thing would scare me into shaping up.

4th of July goodness
Well, Dillon's first 4th of July was officially a huge success. He took a nap with Daddy, went swimming (always a fave), and REALLY enjoyed the fireworks. Like squealing and flapping his arms enjoyed. Good times. Additionally, I finished his baby blanket, after more than a year and bringing in a pinch knitter. Lemme tell you - thousands of little stockinette stitches can drive a girl insane. This could possibly be my last attempt at a blanket. Small projects for me!

What a weekend!
So this weekend was quite dramatic in Dillon terms...
We went to a party Saturday night, where he cut his finger on a pop can. It bled like a head wound, and kept bleeding Sunday after his band aid fell off! Then Sunday morning he did a launch out of Steve's arms and wacked his head on the coffee table, choked on the french fry box at Wendy's (I know, we're bad parents!), and then pooped in the swimming pool. Whew! That was quite the weekend for us. In other news, Steve has updated the websites and they are chock full of new photos. Yay!

Clarification
I did not really mean that Steve is a slacker. I meant that he is really busy and has not been able to update the website recently. My bad.

The Beginning, Pt. 2
The Beginning...
So I finally succumbed and got a blog. Mostly because Steve has really slacked in the website updating department, and I don't know how to do that. Anyway, I will attempt to share photos and miscellaneous news of interest whenever I have some. Wish me luck!
