We really do have that many leaves. The photo is not doctored...

The Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun time at the pumpkin patch on Sunday - Dillon saw a bunny, some pigs and sheep, and picked several "punkins" to bring home.

My almost 2 year old - going on 16.

More pics

Self-portraits are always fun...Wait till I post the photos Dillon's taken himself! Let's just say they're not all quite as good as the one here.

Thank goodness it was just operator error.

Steve told me not to show this to anyone...

Tragic!

The add a photo button won't work! In the meantime, I will tell you a funny story. The other day Dillon farted, put his hands on his butt, and said "Bubbles!". He was very impressed that he can make bubbles with his butt.

Summer is almost gone...

As usual, this summer has been insane for the Jones family. Between work trips, beer club events, family visits, and more, we've probably been home all together 4 weekends or so. And those weekends were filled with parties or festivals or something else crazy. I need a break from my summer break! Dillon and I just got back from Kansas where we spent some quality time with the great-grandparents and managed to sneak in a little time with Peony and Addi. Before that, my parents came to visit. We went to the zoo AND a Rockies game for the first time with Dillon. Good times were had by all. And yes, that glazed look is normal. I swear he's happy. He just doesn't pose for photos anymore.

4th of July

We went to Steamboat for the 4th to see Brad and Courtney; Tyler and LeAnn came with. While we were there they even found a place to get married for next summer - so exciting! Dillon had a great time watching the parade and the cattle drive, but conked out before the fireworks really started. This was after falling in the gravel and pushing one of his front teeth back. Yuck! Here are some pics of the festivities, plus a few slightly older cute ones.

(That's "Bank", Dillon's new favorite thing)
You can't go to Steamboat without a cowboy hat!

2 months later...

Here I am again, still slacking on the blog. Things have been crazy, which is typical for summer around here. We're gearing up for 4th of July in Steamboat (yay!) and are volunteering for Brewfest this weekend. Always a good time. Dillon is amazing - new words everyday. My current favorite is olive, which sounds like "ah-woah". L's are so tricky! My little super genius already knows what letters go in his name and recognizes when that is the word written - "Dinnon". Language development is so amazing. I will leave you with a hilarious video of niece Finley singing the ABC's. Pay special attention to the T U V part...

Hi. My name is Cathy and...

I'm a lame blogger. Sorry about that. So many things have happened since we last spoke, most important of which is KU won the National Championship. Woo woo! Dillon is still adorable and is now sporting his very first shiner, earned on the playground in front of the swings. We had a visit from Peony and Addi this last weekend which was very fun - the mommies even had a nice quiet dinner just the two of us. Steve could possibly be the nicest husband ever. Let me see what I have for pics tonight...

March Madness

It's about time spring arrived! I'm sure it's not done snowing here, but for now it's sunny and in the 60's. Yay! Jackie - I have the same feelings about the spanking, but when they can't talk it's the easy thing to do. I've pretty much resisted and Dillon has returned to his normal lovable self. Whew. I think I was just being paranoid. Now, instead of hitting, he refuses to kiss me. I say "Can Mama have a kiss?" and he turns his little head and says "Nooo." Although it makes me a little sad, it's actually pretty darned cute. He always changes his mind later and puckers up. He also said "I love you" the other day. It was more like "Wuh woo" and it was to Steve, but I think it still counts. I'm so excited for all the words that have started coming out of his mouth!

Another thing...

I am so in love with the song Hallelujah lately. I've always loved the Jeff Buckley version (it's actually #1 on my top 5 songs of all time), and I've recently discovered several other worthy versions. Would it be weird to make a playlist of just covers of this song? In other news, Dillon has started displaying his temper. I'd been keeping my fingers crossed that he wouldn't have one, especially since he's the happiest, most chill kid ever. Then today I did something he didn't like and he gave me a mad face and then hit me. Three times. In fact, the more I held his hand down and said no, the more he hit me. Awesome. He went straight into the crib for time-out, since I didn't really know what else to do and needed to put him somewhere before I did something I would regret. If this keeps up, I think he's going to get really familiar with spanking, unless someone has a better idea...

Insomnia

Since I now officially am an insomniac, maybe I will keep up with blogging a little better. I am currently enjoying the musical talents of Imogen Heap - check out the video below to see some amazing talent. Even if it's not your style, it's pretty amazing.

Christmas recap

Happy New Year everyone! Here are some pics from Christmas. Do you like my new Katie Holmes do? I'm not sure I'm feeling the bangs. Luckily hair grows back. Dillon had a wonderful Christmas, and got a ton of things. We even went to church, if you can believe it!
